Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Development Manager to join their team and lead the development of solar, wind, and BESS projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project development, from site identification and land acquisition to permitting and interconnection. This role presents an exciting opportunity to drive growth and make a significant impact in the renewable energy sector.
Responsibilities- Lead the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of project sites suitable for solar, wind, and BESS development.
- Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies and due diligence assessments to assess project viability and risks.
- Negotiate and secure land agreements, leases, and easements with landowners and stakeholders.
- Manage the permitting process, including environmental assessments, regulatory approvals, and community engagement.
- Coordinate interconnection efforts with utilities and transmission operators to ensure seamless project integration.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, communities, regulators, and local authorities.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including engineering, finance, legal, and construction, to ensure project success.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and milestones, and take corrective action as needed to mitigate risks and optimize performance.
- Stay informed about market trends, policy developments, and technological advancements in the renewable energy industry.
- Participate in industry conferences, workshops, and networking events to promote our client's brand and identify business opportunities.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior members of the development team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to project development and execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on solar, wind, and/or BESS projects.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and permitting utility-scale renewable energy projects.
- Strong understanding of project finance, permitting processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed to project sites and meetings.
- Passion for renewable energy and commitment to sustainability.
