We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our team at Tsumea. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the backend infrastructure of our games.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and growth of our current games, including Gems of War and Puzzle Quest 3
  • Work with gameplay engineers to develop new features and ensure reliability and scalability of the backend
  • Collaborate with other backend and front-end engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient database solutions using relational and non-relational databases
  • Develop and maintain cloud-based infrastructure using AWS or Google Cloud
  • Ensure the security and integrity of our backend systems
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of our development processes

Requirements

  • Experience working with databases, including relational and non-relational databases
  • Experience working with cloud providers, such as AWS or Google Cloud
  • Understanding of scaling, reliability, and load balancing concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other engineers
  • Experience with websockets and networking code
  • Knowledge of build systems and asset pipelines
  • Experience with monitoring tools, such as Grafana and Datadog

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a game development environment
  • Experience with Postgre SQL, Mongo DB, HTML, CSS, and JSON
  • Knowledge of custom server architectures
  • Experience writing automated tests
