You be part of a team to define, assess and evaluate project performance against agreed plans and the implementing strategies in order to achieve project capability realisation outcomes.

Positions are varied and ideal for a project manager who has proven successful experience specialising in overseeing and managing transformational projects and is looking to take the next step in their career.

This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP).

About our Team You will:

Provide specialist advice to define capability requirements, conduct planning, monitoring and controlling of products across the Defence Capability Life Cycle.

Lead and prepare the development of timely and high quality agendum, issues papers, minutes for capability committees to senior Defence leaders to assist in their decision-making.

Lead and manage end-to-end project lifecycles, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
Develop detailed project plans, track progress, and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in project management practices.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and milestones.
Lead, mentor and guide project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.

Positions are varied and we seek proven successful project management skills across: Capability planning, scheduling, Benefits and need realisation, Workforce planning, resource and cost modelling Materiel acquisition and sustainment planning across assets and disposal of materiel systems.

Our Ideal Candidate Understanding of Australia's strategic policy, legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence mission and policy requirements. Knowledge of Defence capability and the One Defence Capability System (ODCS).

Ability to organise complex activities involving multiple entities/agencies in a limited period Proven success in managing projects with tight deadlines.

Manage and monitor core elements and staff associated with programs/products.

Proven success in delivering and managing project and program interdependencies including: Defence capability needs and benefits management Capability lifecycle, control and risk management Scheduling, planning, requirements definition Stakeholder management, organisational governance Contractor deliverables, tender evaluation, source selection, financial management Workforce and resource management Materiel systems and sustainment Analysis, controlling and evaluating logistic support requirements Developing integrated logistic support (ILS) documentation plans, logistic plans, instructions Workforce capacity analysis, development and maintenance of capacity planning artefacts, systems and tools, developing capacity planning strategies, action plans, workforce plans.
