ATSILS is a non-profit organization that offers professional legal services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients across Queensland. With 50 years of experience, a team of 300 staff, and specialized Through Care service, we are committed to serving our clients effectively. This administrative role is dependent on continuous funding, currently secured until June 30, 2025.

Besides working in a vibrant office setting, there are opportunities for advancement in Administration and Court Support Officer roles once core responsibilities are mastered. You will also have the chance to build connections internally and externally to enhance our service delivery to clients and their families.

Selection Criteria

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA (6)

  • Values: Demonstrate alignment with ATSILS values and vision, showing empathy and understanding towards the challenges our clients encounter in their pursuit of justice and fairness.
  • Qualifications: Possess a Certificate III in Business/Customer Service or equivalent. Previous experience in assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and families is advantageous.
  • Client service and data management: Ability to deliver culturally sensitive service at Reception, handle multiple tasks efficiently, and adhere to compliance, safety, and security protocols. Initiative, prioritization, and helpful demeanor are highly valued.
  • Document production: Proficiency in online documentation, Microsoft Office, and correspondence drafting.
  • Experience: Prior experience in operational support, handling client interactions, phone communications, and office management tasks.
  • Identification, security, and safety: Willingness to undergo a Criminal Record Check for National Police Certificate and meet ATSILS security clearance requirements.

Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent as per role requirements specified under the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA (4)

  • Current First Aid Certificate, Workplace Health and Safety Representative training, or Emergency Services qualifications.
  • Proficiency in database entry and reporting.
  • Additional relevant qualifications or enrollment in tertiary courses.
  • Experience in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander services.
