About St Mary MacKillop College
St Mary MacKillop College (SMMC) is a Catholic co-educational secondary College within the Catholic Education (Canberra & Goulburn) system. It is situated on two campuses in the Tuggeranong valley. The Padua junior campus (years 7 to 9) is in Wanniassa, and the St Peter's senior campus (years 10 to 12) is 5 km away in Isabella. SMMC caters to around 2050 students and has about 220 staff across both campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the Curriculum Coordinator and faculty members to ensure the College Vision is effectively implemented
  • Contributing to the development of educational policies, especially related to teaching areas
  • Developing contemporary and challenging study programs
  • Ensuring inclusive study programs and high-quality classroom pedagogy
  • Being accountable for all aspects related to the teaching role
  • Promoting shared practices around literacy and numeracy across the curriculum
  • Contributing to strategic planning for school improvement in teaching and learning

Qualifications

  • Must possess relevant Working with Children registration and Teaching Accreditation
  • Must have completed a relevant degree

Essential Criteria

  1. Demonstrate expertise in teaching and collaboration with colleagues, students, and families
  2. Show deep knowledge of contemporary teaching practices from Years 7-12
  3. Contribute to pedagogy and assessment practices across the curriculum
  4. Effectively lead classroom initiatives and vision for Mathematics
  5. Support community building within the College
  6. Communicate effectively with various stakeholders
  7. Promote stewardship of the Vision for a Catholic School following the Josephite tradition
