: Franklin School is seeking a high performing and dynamic school leader who can build on and maintain positive, strengths- based relationships with all stakeholders within the school community. We believe that high levels of wellbeing and connection lead to opportunities where children can achieve their personal best. The school utilises a collaborative approach when designing data informed learning experiences through Spirals of Inquiry and a Professional Learning Team/Community (PLT/PLC) approach. Teaching teams have a strong focus on collaboration around evidence-based pedagogies and practices, as outlined in our Pedagogical Framework, including InitiaLit, Spelling Mastery, The Writing Revolution, and a mathematics Daily Review.As a member of the school leadership team, the school leader will be required to support the principal to lead the school as a Professional Learning Community (PLC) to improve learning outcomes for all students in accordance with the School Plan. This includes:
A demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based pedagogical practices in literacy, including the Workshop Model and the Writing Revolution, and experience in providing coaching and mentoring to build the personal and collective capacity of PLTs. Expertise in embedding research-based approaches such as the Writing Revolution and Spelling Mastery to support learners in classrooms. Knowledge and understanding of the Australian Curriculum, in particular the National Literacy Learning Progression-writing. Support for staff to establish and maintain positive and respectful relationships with students, parents, and stakeholder groups in the wider community. Individualised support for staff, ranging from those holding a Permit to Teach certificate to highly accomplished teachers. Implementation of an effective, results-oriented PLC model using the Spiral of Inquiry. Ability to foster an inclusive approach to learning, meeting students at their point of need and supporting engagement for all students across the school; P-6. Undertake an appropriate teaching load and other duties as determined by the Principal. The ability to establish highly effective relationships with all members of the school community, including the onsite childcare provider Anglicare.-
