About the Role

The role of Product Manager – Combined General & Emergency Lighting is a pivotal position within the company, designed to bridge the gap between stability and cutting-edge innovation. The individual in this role will be responsible for optimising resource allocation to ensure that new products are launched effectively and in sync with strategic market timing.
This role is not just about managing products but also about nurturing them through calculated risks in innovation, ensuring that these ventures do not compromise the integrity of the core product line whilst maintaining high customer satisfaction and product quality and steering the company towards a future of growth and market leadership.

Reporting directly to the Head of Product & Innovation at the head office in Scoresby, the key accountabilities and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and manage the product strategy and roadmap for Clevertronics' range of car park and stairwell lighting and emergency products, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Monitor industry product and technology trends to help formulate product roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline the product deployment process, enhancing efficiency and communication.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive product briefs that clearly outline the value proposition, target cost, and business benefits of new product proposals.
  • Provide ongoing support and updates for product-related information within the company database, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Engage in the development and continuous improvement of sales support materials, including datasheets, product guides, and case studies, to empower the sales team and inform stakeholders.
  • Support the creation of marketing collateral following brand guidelines, working closely with the Marketing Communications and National Marketing Manager to ensure consistency across all channels.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Marketing to streamline product development and launch processes.
  • Support Sales, Project Services, and Commissioning teams in product deployment and application.
  • Provide comprehensive sales analysis, monitor competitor products, and contribute to product strategy for Clevertronics' evolving portfolio.

About You

The role is well-suited to individuals who have worked in product or category management teams.

The ideal candidate for a role would:

  • Possess a tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent industry experience and have at least three years of relevant experience in the Lighting Industry.
  • A background in the application and specification of Weatherproof, Carpark, Industrial, Outdoor, and Back-of-house lighting is essential.
  • Experience in production, sales, or marketing within the electrical or lighting sector will be highly beneficial.
  • Project Management skills, along with the ability to communicate complex technological concepts in simple terms.
  • Logical thinker with a keen attention to detail.
  • Be responsive, reliable, customer service-oriented, and able to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Self-motivation, a hands-on approach, and the capacity to meet strict deadlines.
