What you will be doing:

Nepean Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Wardsperson to join the team on a Casual basis.

This position is responsible for transporting patients and items throughout the hospital and providing assistance to patients within the clinical setting.

Services must be performed in a courteous and efficient manner with particular attention to customer service.


The role will help ensure equipment accessed and utilised is in good working order reporting defects in a timely fashion to facilitate safe patient care and respond to request by nursing staff involving patient care, more important during the case of an emergency or disaster.

You will work closely with the nursing staff and patient flow team ensuring timely and efficient transfer and movement of patients throughout the hospital.

This position will also look after attending to dirty linen, moving furniture as required, assembling traction beds, connecting fittings as required, and other related duties as required.

Selection Criteria to be Addressed:

  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of customer service
  • Ability to work Mornings, Evenings & Night duty shifts, across a 7 day week roster
  • Able to demonstrate problem solving an prioritisation skills in a work environment
  • Be able to meet the physical demands of the position as listed in the physical requirements in the position description
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Able to demonstrate a reasonable understanding of work health and safety
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel
