Brickworks NSW is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our afternoon shift manufacturing operations at our state-of-the-art brick plant in Horsley Park, NSW.

In this role you will direct the manufacturing operations performed in a shift, ensuring the shift reaches volume, quality and cost/efficiency goals without compromising on safety. You will also be responsible for organising and monitoring workflow on the production floor and identifying improvements in employee efficiency to maximise production output and profits.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Lead a team to meet safety, quality, cost, efficiency, delivery, and customer requirements.

• Manage and supervise all production lines and facilities at the production site.

• Communicate and maintain shift standards and working schedules, ensuring proactive measures for schedule adherence.

• Collaborate with sales, quality control, safety, logistics, and maintenance staff for optimal production performance.

• Ensure production costs remain within budget and assist in setting budgets.

• Coordinate the maintenance of production machinery.

• Ensure first-quality products and compliance with quality systems and processes.

• Monitor the quality and quantities of production materials, resolving any issues.

• Assist in Quality Audits and implement cost and labour-saving initiatives.

• Forecast labour requirements and recommend changes to improve productivity and engagement.

• Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe manner, compliant with WHSE policies and procedures.

• Oversee recognition, discipline, safety, and training of operators.

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness in production areas.

• Ensure environmental responsibilities are met.

Success Requirements


• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production management, performance evaluation, and budgeting concepts.

• Proficiency in leadership, communication, and people management.

• Strong problem-solving, project management, and organisational skills.

• Experience in production planning, quality control, and work organisation.

• Ability to handle responsibility and meet deadlines.

• Preferred tertiary qualifications or equivalent formal studies with extensive and successful experience in manufacturing control and management.
