Essential Accountabilities


The general production machine operator position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of converting lines, cutting, stacking, labelling, and sealing machines that produces wet wipes.


General duties

List the day-to-day tasks carried out by this role

  • Machine set up, start up and tuning as appropriate for production schedule.
  • Following all Safety measures in operating the machine and factory operations.
  • Lifting, moving, and loading fiber fabrics, packaging films and other machine consumables.
  • Safe handling of chemicals
  • Chemical mixing
  • Batch testing (raw materials & products) before, during and after production.
  • Production documentation
  • Recording set up from trials
  • Production Line sanitisation
  • Conducting periodic checks
  • Ensure batch number printing on both film and carton

Requirements:

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Physical examination and preemployment drug screen will be required upon conditional job offer.
  • Previous experience with machines in an automated environment, or previous general production are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, reach, lift, grab and twist
  • Must be able to complete production documentation accurately
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on the machines as per instruction.
  • Previous experience in similar roles working days and nights on a rotating shift pattern
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Proven work history within a process environment
  • Machine operation and set up experience
  • Able to accurately follow written procedures and verbal instructions
  • Ability to accurately record manufacturing and quality data
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Forklift and driver's license advantageous
  • Mechanical or Electrical trade background is advantageous
