ABOUT THE TEAM
Atunypa Wiru Minyma Uwankaraku Service is a domestic and family violence support and advocacy service for Aboriginal women and children living in the NPY region.
The service is informed by a holistic and relational understanding of violence that acknowledges the key role of family and community relationships in working effectively with indigenous clients.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Malparara-Malparara project is a group of Anangu women who have come together to create culturally safe ways of engaging in healing and violence prevention work, with an emerging focus on engaging with young women.
As the project officer of the Malparara-Malparara project, you will plan and facilitate regular workshops with the Anangu participants, and support these participants to use learnings from the workshops to engage in primary prevention work as well as feed their reflections back to the broader DFVS to help guide practice.
You will also facilitate the ongoing evaluation of the project using a developmental evaluation approach.This is your opportunity to make a real impact alongside a dedicated, skilled and supportive group of people.
The organisation is committed to working within the NPY lands for the benefit of Anangu people in the region and you will work in an environment and landscape unique to Australia.
WHAT WE OFFER
You will work within a supportive, trauma-informed framework and we provide a comprehensive culturally aware orientation program.
You will receive best practice clinical supervision and professional development that includes vicarious trauma, case management and four-wheel drive training.
We also provide critical incident de-briefing and a range of counselling services to support you.In addition to this we offer a generous remuneration package.
You will receive an above award salary, salary packaging benefits, 32 days (pro-rata) of annual leave and 15 days (pro-rata) of personal leave.
