About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Management Office Manager to join our team at MacDonnell Regional Council. As a key member of our Council Services team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative and diverse projects that align with the needs of our remote Indigenous communities.

As the Manager of the Project Management Office (PMO), you will work closely with the Director of Council Services to oversee a wide range of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with Council goals and community priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the establishment and management of the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring effective delivery of projects across our 13 remote Indigenous communities.
  • Oversee projects from a variety of sectors, including capital works, community-driven initiatives, and local authority projects.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the PMO and across other Council departments.
  • Engage and work collaboratively with community leaders, Local Authorities, and stakeholders to ensure projects are tailored to the specific priorities of each community.
What We're Looking For

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. You will ideally hold tertiary qualifications in project management, business, or a related field, and have extensive experience in managing diverse projects.

Experience working in or with remote Indigenous communities or local government will be highly regarded, as will a strong understanding of the cultural and social dynamics of the region.
