Group Credit Structuring (GCS)'s aim is to support our customers by understanding their financial difficulties and working to develop balanced outcomes for our stakeholders.

Where this is not possible, GCS will work with customers in a collaborative and respectful manner that meets community and shareholder expectations. Through early engagement, sharing insights and data, GCS influences and drives outcomes across a wide range of stakeholders.

Do work that matters:

Reporting to Business Improvement Executive Manager (BIEM) GCS, this role will draw on your broad banking skills to support the GCS Team in delivering the best outcomes for our customers who are experiencing financial difficulties. You will play a key role in supporting the broader GCS Team to enable better risk and compliance outcomes and provide guidance and advice.

On any given day you will:

  • Manage a team who undertake operational risk assurance functions for tasks undertaken within GCS including complaint management assurance and reporting.
  • Uplift previously adopted Assurances processes and procedures to deliver improved efficiency and effective risk management.
  • Uplift management reporting of Assurance findings to support the broader GCS Team.
  • Management of credit delegations, breaches and system support for the GCS team.
  • Support the management of the issue and incident pipeline including the escalation and approval of any extensions and ensuring appropriate action has been taken to close out issues and incidents.
  • Governance and facilitation of monthly Non-Financial Risk and Operational meetings with the GCS Leadership team.
  • Support the BIEM to drive a strong governance and compliance culture across GCS.
  • Support the BIEM in providing advice and guidance in accordance with the risk management framework.
  • Assist with the delivery of projects being undertaken across the GCS Team
  • Proactively engage with key stakeholders in the business.
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
  • Demonstrated experience in general banking
  • Commercial lending experience whilst preferred is not mandatory
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and consulting skills and the ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders
  • The ability to identify risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions
  • Knowledge of our regulatory obligations/compliance and assurance requirements
  • Ability to think critically and use data to solve problems
  • An understanding of complaints management handling
