The Role

The focus of this role will be to enhance and enable the delivery of exceptional member experience through product strategy, product development and member proposition. It will use member and market insights, design principles and strong stakeholder and project management skills to build out effective product roadmaps, evolve and articulate our proposition and deliver product enhancements that support our continuous improvement and growth goals.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven ability to develop a successful and realistic product strategy including delivery to market that balances short-term opportunities with longer-term strategic objectives.
  • An appreciation for lean, human-centred design principles for solution design & delivery. This includes knowledge across a mix of Agile, Lean and HCD approaches and familiarity with a range of tools and frameworks to support your vision, roadmaps, analysis, facilitation and reporting.
  • An analytical focus with an appreciation of data analysis, commercial drivers, business viability and technical feasibility.
  • Proven ability to articulate a proposition clearly, concisely and impactfully to resonate with a chosen audience. Ability to tailor and evolve messaging to span the diverse needs of our member base and personas.
  • Experience in, and understanding of, complex operational environments. Experience working across multiple streams in a fast paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
  • Organised and planned: you can prioritise effectively to manage your workload
  • Ownership and accountability: you have a strong ability to resolve complex problems, working through situations and opportunities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with strong ability to extract / elicit requirements / problems in customer experiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven facilitation skills.
  • Ability to assess the impact of implementing change on other areas of business and plan for the impact of change accordingly.
  • Demonstrable ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Strong business acumen, you understand the bigger picture and can communicate effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong ability to manage and lead internal projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and achievement of desired business outcomes.
  • A tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience within a Member-based organization, particularly in the healthcare industry would be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of the mechanics of the insurance industry would be an advantage.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities

  • Developing a product strategy & delivery to market that balances short-term opportunities with longer-term strategic objectives.
  • Define what success looks like for the product/s and how we will measure success across the business.
  • Work to achieve a balance between the commercial and customer outcomes by taking a data-driven approach, focusing on customer needs and enabling content teams to deliver continuously improved experiences, including the ability to experiment, test and learn.
  • Clearly articulate propositions for our current, emerging and future market positions, including tailoring for B2C groups, B2B groups, single issue stances and complex partnerships
  • Work to understand the market, the business, and the customer to be empowered to make the right decisions to drive a holistic strategy and vision for the products.
  • Coordinate across multiple areas of the business to gain alignment including roadmap alignment, engagement, education, and execution.
  • Working in a cross functional team you will facilitate workshops, communicate priorities and roadmaps broadly across the business.
  • Drive the strategy and overall success of the product through a solid understanding of the market, the business, and the customer.
  • Use data and analytics to identify opportunities that will drive commercial value for the business.
  • Communicate and motivate stakeholders and teams to ensure alignment of the product vision and strategy. Work to understand all internal teams / stakeholders who are impacted and will benefit from this product, ensuring there is alignment and shared understanding.
