898115 About the role We are seeking a Director of Business Intelligence to lead our team of data specialists and provide comprehensive data reporting and analytics services across CAHS.

This is an exciting opportunity to drive the maturity and effectiveness of our Business Intelligence function, ensuring data is accessible, meaningful, and impactful in order to best inform strategic priorities and improve operational performance Reporting to the Executive Director Safety, Quality and Innovation, you will lead the development and execution of analytics strategies, enhancing information sharing, reporting efficiency, integration and governance.

You will lead your team and work closely with stakeholders to understand information needs and leverage data to generate objective benchmarks, evaluate performance, maximise operational efficiency and drive improvement.

As a leader you will foster a culture of collaboration, supporting a team of 10-12 business intelligence professionals to grow their capabilities.

You will mentor your team in providing specialist advice across business and technical domains according to their operational portfolio and be accountable for your team's ability to accurately and effectively collect, manage, monitor, analyse and translate data.


Your responsibilities will include:

Providing operational and strategic leadership to your team, overseeing data governance and data management initiatives, ensuring robust information management practices are in place and fostering collaboration with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for quality enhancement.

Working with your team to consolidate and manage extensive data sets and translate complex data into meaningful insights.
Identifying and developing strategic opportunities driving growth and maturity within the function including integration of emerging technology.

Engaging with the team on data related policy, and management activities as part of engagement in collaborative endeavours across various health services, including East Metro, ICT, and the Department of Health.

If you have extensive experience in data analytics, performance reporting, and business intelligence together with proven ability to lead and mature a high performing BIU team then this is the role for you.

Prior experience in the health sector, or public sector is well regarded but not required.

About our Team The Business Intelligence Unit offer a comprehensive reporting service for the whole of CAHS, including Perth Children's Hospital and Neonatology (PCHN), the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), and our community based services (CACH).

Our team of analysts work closely with senior stakeholders to enhance quality and operational performance outcomes.

Through in-depth data analysis, we offer valuable insights for informed decision-making, strategic planning, and benchmarking in areas such as workforce, performance, safety and quality, clinical, outpatient and surgical services, as well as finance and activity-based funding and costing.

Our responsibilities include managing access to databases, workspaces and audiences for clinical and operational data, providing a centralised repository for reports and dashboards.

In addition, we provide consultation, and mentoring to teams, supporting them in building analytical capability and to developing their own customised data analytics tools.

CAHS comprises four service areas:
Neonatology, Community Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and Perth Children's Hospital (PCH).
