Job Description:


You will be responsible for delivering on business initiatives with tangible benefits as well as uplifting TAL's operational resilience and improving our policy, process and control frameworks by ensuring consistency of operations across the TAL enterprise.

This will also include any change management requirements to ensure successful operationalisation of initiatives and programs of work.


Providing strategic input and working with the Individual Life Leadership Team, TAL Executive Team and other senior leaders across the enterprise is critical to the success of this role.


Maintaining and improving robust operating rhythms and governance frameworks is essential to ensure TAL continue to meet their regulatory obligations, customer expectations and commercial outcomes.


Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Review current processes and controls to ensure they adequately manage TAL's overall risk
  • Design, develop and execute process improvements to improve TAL's operational risk and reduce likelihood of occurrence.
  • Lead remediation and reconciliations activities, identifying trends and make recommendations around detective and preventative controls to mitigate risks
  • Leads the Individual Life Program Office and its direct and indirect resources within requirements and budget.
  • Leads the review of projects with the program office, anticipating resource usage and availability, scheduling for optimum efficiency and maintaining metric data and estimating models.
  • Ongoing quality assurance and maintenance of project frameworks, including change methodologies, document templates and processes, ensuring an easy to use and comprehensive tool set for the Program Office.
  • Involved in reviewing projects that have operational teams impacts to ensure operational risk has been considered and adequate controls / processes built

Qualifications:

  • Strong written, oral and public speaking capability across all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities
  • Good attention to detail and a rigorous focus on delivering quality output
  • A minimum of 5+ years in leading a high performing team
  • Strong technical knowledge of Life Insurance and / or Superannuation business
  • Substantial experience and successful track record of delivering business change and improved business processes within a complex business transformation programme
