We're nominally based in CommBank's amazing new facilities at South Eveleigh, but most of us work remotely and we have a remote-first culture.- A little bit about the team- Our hands-on leadership team is responsible for shaping our strategy and culture; and growing a successful business that achieves our mission.- Our risk vision is enable the venture to grow safely, with technology-led risk capability integrated into its operations.- By leveraging best-in-market technology and Group functions to do the 'heavy lifting', our small team can focus on identifying and delivering the actions required to support the safe growth of the venture.

- Your responsibilities in this Risk Manager role will be:

  • Ensure the safe, compliant operation of the business
  • Lead the management of Compliance and Operational Risk Incidents, ensuring we put things right for customers and meet regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Lead the management of Issues, partnering with delivery teams across the Group to ensure sustainable, digital solutions are implemented to address control gaps and weaknesses.
  • Support the design, implementation and ongoing testing of strong, digital controls.
  • Coordinate traceability exercises to assess Unloan's compliance with regulatory obligations at a granular level.


 Innovate
  • Identify opportunities to reduce friction within the customer and employee experience, whilst balancing appropriate risk outcomes.
  • Challenge established processes, using data to quantify the 'true' risk exposure requiring management.
  • Support endtoend risk management across Unloan, x15 and CBA
  • Work closely with other Risk team members, deputising for them as required during periods of absence.
  • Build strong relationships with key partners in x15 and CBA, ensuring Unloan benefits from the deep expertise and follows the Group Three Lines of Accountability (3LoA) model.
  • We are looking for people who have:
  • Experience with managing operational risk, ideally with Incident and Issue management withing banking or financial services.
  • Driven change, ideally relating to coordinating the implementation of solutions to issues across broad, complex areas.
  • Led or been involved in the analysis and documentation of operational processes, including the assessment of risks and required controls.
  • Curiosity and openess to learning new things, and taking accountability for finding solutions to challenging, ambiguous problems.
  • Thrived in environments with ambiguity and taking on big challenges that push you outside of your comfort zone.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders and holding them accountable for delivering on their commitments.
  • Confidence contributing your views, effectively communicating with and influencing a range of stakeholders.
