As a Technical Systems Support Officer you will provide support to users, test functionality and processes, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and implement new services across Births Deaths & Marriages' Information Communication Technology (ICT) environment.


Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Utilising appropriate tools and methods to address user support queries and return user's ICT systems and networks to optimum efficiency
  • Managing setup activities for ICT devices and systems, and monitor their performance to limit or prevent loss of service to end users
  • Developing and maintaining uptodate knowledge of industry practices and technologies so you can contribute to the identification of ways to improve efficiency and reliability of products and services and to support the continued integrity of the services
  • Ensuring sensitive issues, imminent risks, or security breaches are reported to ensure corrective action can be taken
  • Create and maintain support documentation to assist in restoring services and reduce the impact of unplanned outages
  • Excellent problem solving, customer service, communication skills, and an attention to detail
  • Willingness to upskill and work with multiple teams within BDM and DCS
  • The ability to effectively prioritise, manage multiple tasks at once, and understand the importance of meeting our delivery standards
  • The understanding of how to handle confidential and personal information within organisational and legislative requirements
  • Collaborative teamwork: able to work part of a team to meet service benchmarks and provide best practice customer service
  • The ability to adapt and pivot across multiple areas of your role when required
  • A commitment to BDM's vision and mission, model our organisational values, and collaboratively create and generate service experiences that deliver timely quality outcomes for customers

Salary grade 5/6, with the base salary for this role starting at $89,707 plus superannuation.
