Kennedys is seeking a talented Special Counsel to join our well established employment team based in either Sydney or Melbourne.
Working closely with a highly regarded Employment Partner, the role will involve working on an exciting mix of industrial relations, health and safety, discrimination and employment law matters; covering both litigation and advisory services. This role will also include EPL work for the insurers to the clients.
Given the level of experience required to be successful in the role, this is an excellent leadership & mentoring opportunity with the scope to build a practice whilst gaining exposure to our existing, longstanding client base. In addition, the Special Counsel will lead on webinars and other business development activities, leveraging off our global reputation in the legal market.
Team
Our Melbourne Employment partner, Chris Molnar, has over 25 years practising experience and is one of only a few practitioners to be accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria as a specialist in workplace relations. The Special Counsel will receive expert guidance and mentorship from Chris and wider support from a team of Associates and Paralegals.

*8 years + PQE experience with a strong background in workplace relations A solid knowledge and understanding of Australian employment law Experience and knowledge of Fair Work Commission and Federal Court processes and procedures Non-contentious employment experience Ability to Run own caseload Leadership abilities and natural flair for building relationshipswhere a level of experience is indicated, this is a guideline only and represents the amount of time we would usually expect a candidate to accumulate the requisite level of experience.
