About the Opportunity

The Project Officer in the Supply Chain Performance team is part of a team which provides leadership and direction to Victorian freight projects and policies, to support efficient and sustainable operations of Victorian ports (local and commercial), rail and road freight.

The position supports a range of freight-related projects, is responsible for the collection and use of data about the performance and efficiency of the freight system (aligned with the new Voluntary Port Performance Model and Monitoring Framework), preparation of briefings, advice and reports, and managing small projects.

The position will work closely with colleagues across the Department, and stakeholders operating across the ports and freight area, relevant Victorian and Commonwealth Government departments and agencies to implement initiatives.


  • Support, monitor and report on a broad range of projects and prepare and present comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs and submissions
  • Support effective working relationships and the flow of information across the department and with key external stakeholders
  • Undertake data collection, performance monitoring and reporting in partnership with DoT data modelling teams
About You

  • Interested in developing a career in government and in the field of freight, supply chain management and/or logistics
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organised and experienced supporting projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills related to project delivery, reporting and policy
  • Able to build strong relationships, communicate and influence a broad range of stakeholdrs
