Cremorne Community Health Centre (CHC) (moving to RNS CHC later in 2024)

What you'll be doing

The Intellectual Disability Health Service aims to develop the skills, confidence and experience of mainstream health staff to meet the health needs of people with intellectual disability in the longer term and provides specialist intervention for Intellectual Disabilities. This specialist team will also develop an outreach service to Northern Sydney Local Health District
The position holder will:

  • Work with the Clinical Director, providing strong district wide strategic leadership and planning in intellectual disability
  • Provide senior operational management to the Intellectual Disability team
  • Oversee the operation of the Intellectual Disability Health Service to ensure delivery of an integrated and effective model of care.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health or related discipline and/or equivalent work experience in the field of intellectual disability, or a related field with the ability to apply this experience to the field of intellectual disability; and NSW Drivers Licence, with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
  • Experience in, and demonstrated record of sound achievement and leadership at senior management level in a large and complex organisation.
  • Thorough understanding of and commitment to health care provision and management necessary to improve health outcomes for service consumers, including good experience in quality and process redesign using relevant health guidelines.
  • Excellent strategic planning and policy development skills and the ability to make complex judgements and take initiative within the delegated area.
  • Excellent negotiation, decision making and influencing skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, for example, the Ministry of Health, other Local Health Districts and key agencies like the Agency for Clinical Innovation.
