THE OPPORTUNITY

TAFE NSW is looking for individuals with current industry experience and knowledge in the Automotive industry to work as a Technical Officer on a casual basis, at the Shellharbour Campus.


The Technical Officer is responsible for supporting the delivery of education services through the maintenance of delivery locations and equipment, preparation and distribution of teaching resources and other related support and administrative functions.

Crucially, you are someone who shares the TAFE NSW Values of Integrity, Collaboration, Excellence and Customer First.

ABOUT YOU

To succeed in this role you will be customer-focused with demonstrated experience in the provision of high quality administrative support and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and complex environment.

Additional requirements;

  • Skills, knowledge and experience appropriate to the role and particular trade/vocation/skills area.
  • Desirable qualification such as:
  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology; or
  • Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Technology; or
  • Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology; or
  • Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology; or
  • Equivalent Qualification
  • Auto electrical skills are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate and assist (in collaboration with teaching staff) with equipment, instruments, techniques, and procedures in order to ensure effective and safe learning environments are maintained.
  • Proven ability to create, modify or adapt equipment or other resources to meet requirements.
  • Light fabrication skills such as making up brackets or covers for equipment to ensure safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
  • Ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description.
