We are a fast-moving business that has undergone incredible growth in recent years and we are now looking to bring on a Pre-Construction Project Manager to join our Sydney team on a full time basis.

The Role

As the Pre-Construction Project Manager you will take ownership of the non-pricing process and deliverables from the commencement of a project opportunity pursuit, through to tender submission and project team handover in the event of successfully awarded tenders.

The role works in close collaboration with the internal team (Sales & Marketing, Estimating & Construction Management) as well as relevant external stakeholders (clients, consultants, sub-consultants, building owners and operators). This newly created role is critical in setting the strategy and approach to each project opportunity pursuit.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Taking ownership of developing project methodology and management plans
  • Preparing scopes of work
  • Plan and execute pre-bid and bid meetings during tender
  • Setting preliminaries associated with the delivery of the project and contract / commercial review.
  • Qualify prospective subcontractors and suppliers
  • Lead detailed risk identification to deliver a detail Risk Register
  • Schedule and lead site inspections
  • Develop and oversee all non-pricing RFIs working in conjunction with the Estimating team
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related area highly preferred
  • Expert level of proficiency in Programming software (MSProject)
  • Strong understanding of construction law, contract negotiations, and construction risk management
  • Expert level of proficiency in pre-construction process management (reviewing tenders, preparing scopes of work, drafting tender programmes and the like)
  • Recent experience in a Pre-Construction role within fit out and refurbishment
