Rig Superintendent

Location:
Brisbane, QLD and Moomba, SA

SLB is currently looking for
a Rig Superintendent to join our team.

Responsibilities:

The Rig Superintendent is responsible for serving as the front-line manager of the rig.

The Rig Superintendent assists the Operations Manager in making the rig a profitable and performance-independent unit while delivering products and services to customers.


  • Communicate to rig crew and follow up on all quality and health, safety and environment (HSE) related to critical activities and management system
  • Maintain the safety and integrity of the rig, including asset management, maintenance and training up to date
  • Mentor Rig Managers as required. Ensure crew competencies and critical training certifications are up to date
  • Ensure tools and equipment are available on location and able to be operated safely
  • Ensure smooth crew changes, with fully qualified crew continuously on location
  • Review drilling, work over and completion programs
  • Follow up on well operations and assist customers in the prompt resolution of down hole or well construction problems
  • Lead incentive drilling and operations by making the targets clear to all, monitoring results and adopting ways to improve performance
  • Set operating and maintenance targets with Product and Service Delivery (PSD) and Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) personnel. Ensure targets are communicated to all crew on location. Analyze and present operating statistics to the PSD Manager
  • Understand contracts with subcontractors, including related liabilities. Ensure subcontractors comply with minimum required training
  • Participate in field technical and HSE audits, audits on suppliers
  • Responsible of the P&L of the drilling rig. Achieve lowest reasonable internal and external Days Sales Outstanding. Set accruals as needed. Participate in budget preparation

Requirements:

  • Reside in Brisbane or Australia and have the full right to live and work in Australia
  • No travel restrictions and open to relocation in Australia based on company's requirement
  • Engineering Degree is preferred
  • Prior experience with the current systems used is preferred: CAMM (maintenance system), Oracle (procurement system)
  • Minimum five (5) years of Field Engineer experience is preferred including experience with technical support and project coordinator role
  • Have valid IWCF level all aspects of planning, including all types of SLB Land Rig jobs;
- fundamental concepts of planning;
- good knowledge of tools used on the drilling rigs and processes associated

  • Strong understanding of P&L, Capex, DSO.
  • Project Manager skills, able to organise and coordinate various processes from different departments performed in parallel
  • Possess strong analytical and technical skills, and be proficient
  • Strong understanding of Schlumberger service offering Highly selfmotivated
  • Ability to work under pressure and very adaptable to different conditions
  • Ability to work effectively in Teams
  • Strong Commitment to QHSE
  • Client and Service oriented, Performance Focused
  • Ability to learn quickly and translate the learning into practical solutions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
