About the Role:


This newly-created role has become available due to the growth and development of our Day Options, Community Access, and Supported Independent Living services, as well as strategic changes made by Bedford to ensure our reputation as a market leader in the disability sector into the future.

The role is being offered at our Panorama site on a full time, permanent basis and reports to the General Manager Community and Lifestyle.


Key responsibilities include:
- working collaboratively to develop and deliver safety strategies
- raising awareness of safety in the workplace
- providing advice to promote a positive, safe, and healthy work environment
- reviewing, monitoring and improving departmental quality systems
- participating in audits and performance improvement reviews

About You:

This newly-created role is suited to an individual with strong problem-solving skills who can work comfortably in ambiguity.

You will genuinely care about the health and wellbeing of our frontline staff as well as the people they support, and you will get a strong sense of achievement from seeing how a safe and healthy workplace can contribute to the happiness and satisfaction of our clients.


Other knowledge, skills and attributes include:

  • Certificate IV in Work, Health and Safety
- a strong understanding of WHS legislation and standards
- qualification in Quality Auditing and understanding of QMS
- qualification in HACCP or Food Safety
- qualified and experienced in training

For this role the following documents must be provided prior to a formal offer of employment with Bedford Phoenix Incorporated:

  • National Police Clearance (no older than six months old)
- a current Driver's Licence

  • NDIS worker screening clearance, or other NDIS approved clearance to work in the disability sector
- evidence of right to work in Australia
- evidence of FULL vaccination (x3) with a TGA-approved COVID-19 vaccine or an acceptable exemption
