About the Role

As the Lifestyle & Community Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be supervising the implementation of Person-First Leisure and Lifestyle Programs within our facilities.

You will lead a team of recreational activity officers dedicated to fostering emotional and physical well-being through tailored recreational activities that promote holistic health. This includes ensuring residents receive top-notch care, maintaining their skills, independence, and mobility, and offering respite support to their family or carers.

Aside from managing the Person-First Leisure and Lifestyle Program and the recreational activity team, you will also be actively involved as a Recreational Activity Officer within the care home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional team leadership to all Recreational Activities Officers
  • Deliver high-quality care to residents, supporting their skills, independence, and mobility, and offering respite support to their family or carers
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to plan and organize recreational activity programs
  • Personalize recreational care to align with each resident's individual needs, values, and preferences
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify capabilities, needs, and challenges
  • Adhere to infection control and workplace safety standards

Skills and Requirements

  • Preferably hold a Cert IV in Leisure and Lifestyle; degree qualifications are highly valued
  • Demonstrated prior experience in a similar capacity
  • Essential possession of a Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Previous involvement in elderly care within aged or community care settings
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to independently solve problems
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Familiarity with Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards, and Outcomes
