Led by the Chief Customer and Digital Officer, QGCDG's 1,800 staff work across six key streams to deliver on the key priorities of digital economy, digital customer, digital government, cyber security, data and artificial intelligence, and business services.

As part of QGCDG's extended leadership team and reporting to the General Manager - Digital Economy, the Executive Director, Strategic Policy will be at the forefront of shaping digital policy that drives impactful statewide change and will form a distinct point of view on the action Queensland should take in forging its digital path.

To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to lead the strategic policy team, work with central agencies to craft and socialise policy, understand the cabinet process and legislative vehicles to bring policy to life, collaborate with different subject matter experts across QGCDG to input into policy development, and engage and consult with community and industry on the relevance and impact of policy.

Must have awareness / exposure to key digital policy areas such as AI, inclusion, cyber security, data, connectivity. Must also have a grasp of the major secular developments and eye to global policy trends.

This will require strategic policy development experience most likely gained within government, government owned corporations, consulting and/or advisory organisations combined with the ability to understand the relevant legal and regulatory frameworks for government operations and digital technologies.

Your advanced stakeholder engagement skills will enable you to design effective policy in consultation with diverse industry and other stakeholder groups, and will help you navigate complex environments.

You will also have the ability to lead, inspire and motivate teams, drive change and foster innovation, and uphold high ethical standards.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a thought leader who is consuming, analysing, and thinking about current and emerging digital trends and how they can improve society to make a real difference.
