Job Scope:

As a Project Manager, you will be tasked with managing the successful on-time & on-budget delivery of projects (capital & products) in the PCV business unit for the APAC region as a Project Manager (Capital & Products) - PCV APAC

What you will do:

  • Pro-active & hands-on management of projects (capital & products) in close cooperation with the PCV teams taking the initiative to complete all requirements without sending them back to the International Order Desk (IOD) or Sales.
  • Acting on behalf of FLSmidth vis-à-vis the customer, partners, and all stakeholders for the specific project in accordance with the respective regulations of FLSmidth
  • Hands-on and must be able to deliver on customer's & internal stakeholders' requirements without passing the project onto others.
  • Strategizing, Planning & Organizing
  • Take the lead with PCV Customers & ensure capital projects or conversions are converted to orders – don't wait for others to make this happen or get you access.
  • Develop strong customer relationships & networks well in advance of projects that allow you to deliver on growth targets
  • Overall responsibility for contractual project execution and for the fulfillment of the contractual obligations
  • On-time completion (DIFOT) - ensure work is executed within the contractual period
  • Maintain or improve margin Manage all costs to meet or improve margin
  • Managing Cash-flow - Timeous billing, expedited payments, neutral cash flow as a minimum
  • Productivity/growth - collaboration with all entities to improve FLS efficiency/productivity and promote FLS offerings to customers through job execution.
  • Specific accountability & responsibility for achieving the project objectives by the respective internal quality standards, regulations (e.g., procedures, instructions), and Lessons Learnt set by FLSmidth.
  • Specific accountability & responsibility for costs, quality, safety, and schedule within the scope of the project
  • Specific accountability & responsibility for compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, e.g., tax, export control, insurance, visa, work permits, labor law, and health/ safety/ environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate to ensure supply chains & inventory support customers within APAC.
  • Reporting following the applicable FLSmidth regulations
  • Proactively participating in pricing for new projects
  • Specific hands-on to work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs. This means doing whatever is needed to track down, interpret, edit and modify documentation to meet Customers' requirements.
  • Arrange and manage internal and external client debriefs.
  • Prepare specific handover documents to Order Execution & other FLS teams to ensure projects are coordinated
  • Author project charter & project management plan
  • Lead and manage the project and the project team

What you bring:

  • Relevant Technical tertiary qualification is required: Graduate in Mechanical (or equivalent) engineering.
  • The successful candidate/s must have a personality to suit the requirements of the job, e.g., must be able to work under pressure, maintain excellent customer relations (internal & external), be proactive and hands-on as being specifically accountable for the on-time delivery & within budget delivery of the project.
  • Specific knowledge of the PCV software is required & also, MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and ERP systems.
  • Must have project management experience.
  • Leadership capabilities and the ability to be specifically accountable for the impact and risks of the projects
  • Must understand the contract terms and conditions that we are working under and will be specifically accountable.
  • Demonstrates good team communication skills and is capable of building and sustaining a strong working environment
  • Must have an affinity for coordination and communication.
  • Technical writing and reporting competency, Good organizational skills, multitasking, and time management skills that deliver effective planning and housekeeping standards.
