What does the job look like?


Working within our Intermodal business and based out of a key site in West Melbourne we are looking to hire an Operations Supervisor.

This role will be responsible for the efficient day to day running of the transportation operations with specific focus on customer management, safety, ensuring customer delivery windows and contractual obligations are being met and achieving maximum efficiency.


Key Areas:

  • The efficient day to day running of the transportation operations with specific focus on safety, customer delivery windows and achieving maximum efficiency
  • Confirm store volumes / delivery schedule and map, ensuring key metrics are achieved
  • The effective rostering of transportation resources to deliver the most productive outcomes for Linfox while meeting or exceeding the customer service benchmarks
  • Ensure all site personnel are trained and competent to perform task/s and that records of those competencies are well maintained and up to date
  • Ensure all hazards and risks are identified, evaluated and controlled in accordance with Linfox Safety Policy and Procedures and any client requirements
  • Actively foster a cooperative relationship through regular personal contact and showing a genuine interest in customer welfare and success
Are you the one?

  • At least 23 years' experience in a similar role involving transport load planning, driver allocating or fleet allocating desirable
  • Rail experience desirable but not essential
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills experience with TMS highly regarded
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the Melbourne metro area
  • Ability to work autonomously and provide timely, safe and effective advice to drivers on the road
  • Highly professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of relevant Australian Transport rules and regulations
