The Opportunity:

Visy is a privately-owned Australian-American paper, packaging, and recycling company that produces cardboard, plastic, and glass packaging from recycled materials. It also offers logistics and remanufacturing services to customers across 150 sites worldwide. Additionally, Visy is Australia's largest recycling company, partnering with councils across the country to process approximately 40% of Australia's kerbside recycling bins. Join Visy's Industrial and Digital Transformation (IDT) group and take the lead in driving the safe and effective delivery of our automation solutions. Reporting to the Head of Operational Digital Transformation & Automation, you'll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to achieve our goals.

The Role:

As the Operations Manager – Automation Services & HSE, you'll be at the forefront of managing cutting-edge automation systems and fostering strategic partnerships with vendor service providers.

Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Partner Management: Oversee the execution of maintenance services by vendors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, conducting regular reviews and implementing efficient change management processes.
  • HSE Policy and Procedure: Enforce safety protocols, manage incidents, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Asset Optimization: Drive spare parts management and preventative maintenance processes for optimal asset utilization and efficiency improvements.
  • Change Management: Develop transition plans for new automation projects, ensuring seamless integration to operations.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Significant experience in materials handling and automation in manufacturing or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
