This opportunity

This role will be responsible for the management and delivery of a pre-defined package of work and will cover all areas of the business required to achieve those results. This position will report the Program Manager and will use the Program/Project Management disciplines and processes defined by the VHA PMO.

The Project Manager will be measured for performance in delivery of the Project/tasks assigned to them. Measures will be applied to the actual Timeliness, Cost and Quality of the Outputs; and compliance with PMO Project Management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management of data transformation project – the project will be a multi year project with a number of key business deliverables required once the foundational architecture is established. Demonstrating control of the project through a structured approach will be key for success.
  • Project Governance and Reporting – attend and report on project status to a numbers of senior leadership teams on a weekly basis. Communication and presenting skills are essential.
  • Change, Risk, Issue and Dependency Management – As well as managing risks and issues the PM will need to manage all dependencies with other BAU and transformation projects with the TPG telecom business.
  • Vendor Management – Management of a number of large delivery partners who will be contracted to deliver element of the project.
  • Financial Management – Manage the project finances, reporting on Forecast vs Actual on a monthly basis.

Knowledge and experience

  • Data or Business Intelligence experience – this is a technical program and a basic level of understanding of Data Architecture is essential.
  • Substantial technical IT Project Management Experience
  • Vendor Management Experience is essential
  • Strong Communication and Reporting Skills w/experience reporting to senior leaders at a GM/Exec level
  • Structured and hands on approach to project management
