About the position


The City is seeking a passionate and experienced Youth and Families Coordinator to work at both a strategic and operational level, supervising a dedicated and energetic team of professionals.

With a focus on capacity development, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to plan, develop and evaluate programs and initiatives for children, young people and families in the City of Gosnells.


This is a great opportunity to engage with children, young people and families to identify needs in the community and work across the sector to establish innovative, collaborative partnerships and projects to address these needs.


This is a pivotal leadership role within the Community Capacity Development team; strong coaching, communication and networking skills will be vital.


What we are looking for

To be successful, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in working with children, young people and / or families in a community setting, as well as with community groups and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring staff to achieve success
  • The ability to work effectively as a member of a team, exercising initiative and sound judgement to proactively contribute to the Branch.
  • A strong understanding of contemporary practices and trends relating to children and youth development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a similar role providing community based services and programs for children, young people and families.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and build productive working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.

Essential requirements

  • Current Police Clearance (less than three months old)
  • Current driver's licence
  • Working with Children Check
  • Tertiary qualification in Youth Services, Children's Services or a related social services field.
