The opportunity:

This is a truly dynamic and varied role within our small corporate affairs team.

As an experienced communicator your focus will be on developing and implementing communication and marketing campaigns to build increased brand awareness and reputation of Visy, particularly our recycling division.

We are working on many exciting projects across the broader business where you will get to utilise your communication skills developing meaningful content for a diverse audience.

You will find yourself partnering with various stakeholders from all levels providing you with great exposure and opportunity.

The role:


Reporting to the Head of Government Relations, Communications and Public Affairs, your role focuses on telling Visy Recycling's story by educating a diverse set of stakeholders throughout the recycling industry.

Most days you'll be busy creating and implementing compelling targeted Recycling communications predominately across external channels including digital media to build increased brand awareness and reputation for the division.

The aim is to strengthen and advance the division's messaging and marketing activities in order to remain competitive and to position the company as a market leader into the future.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Aligning communications with Recycling's key strategies and priorities
  • Developing appropriate social media engagement for Visy's social media platforms
  • Measuring the impact of content created and its translation into business benefits
  • Participating in local Government / industry meetings and / or conferences as required

To be considered you must have:

  • 2 years experience in Communications, Marketing or related fields
  • Experience in or engagement with local or state government (desired but not essential)
  • Experience managing external stakeholders and relationships
  • Community partnership strategy development experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience working across internal teams, collaborating, influencing and building consensus
  • Creation of engaging marketing campaigns, and tracking and reporting on their effectiveness
  • Ability to develop high quality and creative communications materials for use across digital and traditional channels
