Role Summary:


The primary purpose of this role is to support the development and of the Risk Management, Fraud and Corruption Control, Crisis Response & Business Continuity frameworks, policies, and plans, as well as assisting with the coordination of internal audits, providing support for operational risk management, and supporting the insurance requirements of DevelopmentWA.

which comprises two separate legal entities, namely the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) and the Western Australian Land Authority (WALA).


The role also includes supporting the Risk and Assurance Team in the provision and monitoring of risk training across the organisation; management of the administration associated with risk systems, registers, policies and procedures; assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations; and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

The role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members and stakeholders within the business to achieve objectives.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Assist the development, implementation and maintenance of the Risk Management Framework, Fraud and Corruption Controls Plan and Crisis Response & Business Continuity Plan.
  • Provide support to the risk management team, including assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations on risk management matters for management and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor Corporate Risk Register and support business units develop their Risk Registers, ensuring all business units have populated both strategic and operational risks in the relevant risk systems and documentation.
  • Support the coordination and implementation of the annual insurance and internal audit program.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects providing highlevel analysis, tracking milestones and target dates for quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support the development, coordination and delivery of risk training across the organisation.
  • Manage creation of contracts, purchase orders and payment of invoices for risk and internal audit services

About you:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, risk or governance related discipline or equivalent applied experience.
  • Experience in risk management, internal audit, quality assurance, compliance or related field.
  • Ability to solve problems of complex nature and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams and senior management.
  • Understanding of relevant regulations and standards related to risk management, internal audit, quality assurance, compliance and operational support programs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • A strong focus on customers, to ensure that all risk activities are carried out with the aim of meeting the needs and expectations of our customers.
