How can you contribute?

We're on the lookout for a highly skilled Information Security Consultant who will be key in providing guidance to business and GroupTech units on Information Security. The main goal is to ensure compliance with the Westpac Group information security framework and maintain the target risk position for information security.

Inter-state candidates are welcome for this position.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Collaborating with Westpac's business partners and Third Party service providers to carry out security governance tasks, safeguarding Westpac against current and emerging threats.
  • Monitoring and analyzing emerging security issues, threats, and trends in the Third Party landscape using available tools to keep executive stakeholders informed about the Group's information security status.
  • Working closely with commercial and legal teams to ensure that third party agreements meet the Group's APRA CPS234 obligations.
  • Staying up-to-date on Information Security trends and threats.
  • Handling Third Party Security Incident Management communication and response.
  • Executing Third Party Security Assessment activities and reporting outcomes to Westpac stakeholders.
  • Assisting in the evaluation of controls assessment evidence verification.
  • Contributing to the development of information security strategies by offering analytics, research advice, and insights on technical matters for the benefit of shareholders, customers, employees, and community stakeholders.

What qualifications are needed?

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders across all levels effectively.
  • Experience in information security, information technology, risk management, audit, or similar roles.
  • A solid grasp of Third Party Governance assessment.
  • Familiarity with information security best practices standards and guidelines such as ISO 27001.
  • A self-motivated individual with exceptional attention to detail who can work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proactive in learning, willing to try new things, and open to feedback for personal growth.
  • Exposure to Infrastructure or Application configurations would be beneficial.
