(HEO5) $77,409 to $86,072 per annum plus an employer contribution of up to 17% superannuation applies.

Continuing position available for a confident Placement Support Officer, experienced in providing advice on professional experience student placements.
The School of Education provides opportunities to a range of educators, including teachers, trainers, academics and educational consultants.

Through high quality education, the School imparts its vision to produce graduates who can lead learning across global, national and local contexts.


The Placement Support Officer is required to provide a range of administrative and student support functions to the School of Education.

This support will underpin the delivery of placement activities and functions for the School of Education's initial teacher education programs.


You will be required to provide a range of professional support for the management of data, records and systems, including responding to queries and providing information, advice and support to students and academic staff.


The position also negotiates appropriate placement opportunities across a diverse range of school environments to meet the training requirements of the School's pre-service teachers.

You will liaise with providers to support the prompt resolution of issues, and support the Professional Experience Placement Coordinator in developing a range of projects, to support the ongoing improvement of University systems and processes.


To be successful you will need:

  • Experience in coordinating and providing advice on professional experience student placements, and an understanding of the national program accreditation standards
  • High level verbal, interpersonal and written skills, and the ability to communicate in a succinct, professional and responsive manner to deliver client centric results.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines under pressure with flexibility, initiative and persistence.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing customer service in a professional manner, and the ability to proactively identity and solve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation.
Experience using SONIA or similar student placement software would be highly desired.
