What you'll do:


We have an opportunity for a Head of OTC (Over the Counter) & Supplier Strategy to join the API Wholesale & Pharmacy Services team.

Reporting to the General Manager of Product and Replenishment, the successful candidate will be responsible for setting the OTC strategy through customer led insights by identifying innovative products to meet customers' needs while providing a ROI and managing the existing OTC products.

You will lead a team of 7 direct reports and provide expert knowledge within category management, procurement and strategic sourcing and be accountable for the performance and growth.

Other key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Strategic thought leadership to create a strategy surmising the story behind the range of product and services.

Provide leadership across the value stream, and end-to-end execution from insight to purchase to supply chain to instore and final clearance.

delivering budgeted and unbudgeted revenue and sales growth with complete liability for the OTC category P&L.
accountable for overseeing the way Wesfarmers Health maximises the benefits of cross-functional relationships with suppliers.
Accountable for the ongoing purchasing strategy and activity and ensuring optimal supplier performance and price.

What you'll bring:


The successful candidate will have extensive experience in a category management role in either a retail or wholesale environment, or alternatively a key account management role in a FMCG manufacturer with a strong knowledge of procurement best practice.

In addition to your natural leadership skills, you will bring with you strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to build relationships and gain credibility across multiple business levels.

Other attributes and experiences that will make you succeed include:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review many supplier touchpoints and data to identify trends, business drivers and areas for focus and opportunity
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated creativity in the development of innovative solutions required within a complex environment

Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with an understanding of government and scheme compliance requirements would be desirable but not essential.

Bachelor's degree is highly desired.
