The Technology and Operations (Tech & Ops) Risk & Compliance team is responsible for providing specialist Operational Risk and Compliance (OR&C) advice, assurance and acceptance/approval of decisions made across the Technology, COO and Supplier Support Units.

Do work that matters:

The purpose of the role is to be the Line 2 lead supporting the CBA India Program with transition approvals, compliance with the CBA India Onboarding plan and providing Line 2 compliance advice to the CBA India entity with adherence to local jurisdictional requirements and Group obligations. Work with the Executive Manager, Operational Risk & Compliance, CBA India and General Manager, Operational Risk & Compliance, COO and BU/SU Technology to provide Line 2 independent services over Line 1 effective implementation of the Risk Management Approach, the Operational Risk and Compliance Management Frameworks, and actively uplift risk capability.

Key responsibilities for this role includes:

Technical:

  • Working as part of a team of professional SMEs to provide independent, pragmatic and value adding Ops Risk and Compliance advice, risk in change assessments, and approval/acceptance for the CBA India Program (in line with Line 2's BEAR accountabilities).
  • Monitoring and reporting of 3LoA activities to the Executive Manager, including BAU management of the Risk Management Approach, the Operational Risk Management Framework and Compliance Management Framework in support of CPS 220.
  • Providing input to the General Manager on Line 2 papers to the CBA India Board and CBA India NFRC
  • Provide Line 2 advice to the CBA India entity on regulatory submissions, compliance incident determinations, regulatory consultations, regulatory change implementation and other matters as required under CBA's internal frameworks, policies and governance.
  • Contributing to the oversight and monitoring of compliance obligations impacting the CBA India entity.
  • Supporting the appropriate identification, escalation and reporting of all related operational and tech risk and compliance matters to the relevant stakeholders, including the relevant NFRCs, your Executive Manager/ General Manager and to the Technology and Operations CRO.
Leadership:
  • Work as part of a cross-skilled and curious team that can support a range of areas both analytically and commercially, speaking up and contributing to appropriate Line 2 oversight and challenge.
  • Provide ideas for Line 2 risk management and assurance activities, analytics, and reporting. Contribute to a culture of learning and collaboration.
  • Role model behaviours that are consistent with CBA values expectations and leadership principles. Provide a safe workplace for all team members, customers and visitors.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders to become a trusted advisor through using commercial acumen, practical recommendations and assisting the business to understand where prioritised focus on key risks and compliance matters is required.

  • Background in Operational Risk and Compliance, including regulatory frameworks, technology or operations skills. Knowledge of applying CBA's operational risk and compliance frameworks, standards, policies and procedures.

  • Stakeholder and influencing skills with the ability to engage pragmatically as a trusted but independent partner.

This is a 12 month/Max Term Agreement secondment opportunity.
