About the role

This is a newly created role, focusing on the provision of strategic direction in psychological health and safety, advice and wellbeing services across AGS.

AGS operates in a complex environment and has high performing legal teams operating across multiple areas of law, jurisdictions and geographic locations.

The role will drive AGS's culture in relation to psychosocial safety and employee wellbeing.

The role is responsible for the development and implementation of positive mental health and relationship management frameworks, strategies and programs with an early intervention, education and risk minimisation focus.

The position has both an operational and strategic focus.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • managing the development and implementation of a comprehensive psychological safety and wellbeing support strategy (effective prevention strategies), framework/s, programs and build organisational capability and awareness
- collaborating with AGS leaders to help maintain high functioning legal teams which can operate in an intense and challenging environment
- driving a psychological safety culture across AGS
- providing proactive and early intervention wellbeing and workplace supports
- designing and enhancing existing policies, procedures, programs and initiatives to deliver in conjunction with existing initiatives delivered by our department.

About you
- qualified as a registered psychologist; registration through AHPRA with the Psychology Board of Australia and hold a currency of practice
- experience or understanding of a legal environment, professional services, health and wellbeing support services or corporate environment is highly desirable
- demonstrated experience in providing advice at senior levels on high risk/impact matters and solid proficiency in drafting and presenting written documents
- solid knowledge and understanding of relevant WHS legislation, regulatory and compliance requirements.
