The Role


We are currently seeking a talented Electrical Drafter to join our Power & Energy team in North Sydney or Newcastle and contribute to the successful delivery of SMEC's Renewable and Energy projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and / or designing of large scale solar and wind farms
  • Underground and Overhead drafting and / or designing
  • Production of layout drawings, single line diagrams, etc.
  • Delivering projects under strict timescales, whilst ensuring quality performance meets with SMEC objectives
  • Liaising with the engineering team, external stakeholders, and client for project specifications and details
  • Contributing to bid preparation and providing technical input across other disciplines where needed

About You

  • Diploma, Advanced Diploma or equivalent professional tertiary qualifications in Drafting (Electrical)
  • Minimum 3 years industry experience as an Electrical Drafter or Designer
  • AutoCAD proficiency
  • Familiar with MicroStation and Revit (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work within a high performing team environment
