About the role We currently have a unique opportunity for an experienced Applications Developer to join a dynamic and highly motivated team within the Digital Technology and Innovation Team.

There has never been a more exciting time to join the NSW Police Force as the organisation is in full flight undertaking the biggest business transformation and complete overhaul of the Policing ICT system.

As a member of the team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting IT Adabas Natural applications to deliver projects and solutions meeting business needs.

The mainframe Computerised Operational Policing System (COPS) is an integrated law enforcement system designed with a focus on operational policing functions used by the NSW Police Force (NSWPF).

The COPS system is used by 18,800, operational police officers and administrative officers of NSWPF, who provide a 24 hour/ 7 day per week service to the community of New South Wales for law enforcement purposes.

This dynamic position will provide the right incumbent an ability to grow and develop their skills further.

The role will suit an energetic, dynamic and flexible person who is willing to ask the right questions, collaborate with stakeholders on a daily basis and be a great team player who will be challenged to think and solve business problems and identify effective solution on a daily basis.

To be successful in this role, you will have: Minimum 3-5 years' experience with ADABAS Natural on Mainframe.

Extensive experience in the use of standards for programming tools and techniques, including security guidelines and selection of appropriate development methods.

Strong technical knowledge for all stages and/or iterations in a software development project, providing method specific technical advice and guidance to stakeholders.

Strong written and verbal communication skills including negotiation, consultation, facilitation and relationship management.
Strong time management and organisational skills.
Maintain and provide 24 hour/7 days per week support for applications ensuring reliability and high availability.

The successful candidate will be working in an environment aiming at the delivery of large, complex, sensitive and integrated computer applications.

Referencing your relevant Adabas/Natural skills, describe recent experience Including: a)Tasks performed; b) documentations prepared; c) experience in using JCL, XML and TSO.

Describe how you have provided support and maintenance of applications. Include how issues are resolved in a timely manner and how is it communicated to the client/stakeholders.
