Residential Support Worker

As a Residential Support Worker, you will:
- Work directly with young people in a residential setting
- Follow rotating shift rosters, including afternoons, evenings, active nights, and sleepovers, with weekend work required
- Support young people with complex behaviors and disabilities, catering to their individual needs
- Create a safe and nurturing environment to promote their well-being and development
Additional Support
Life Without Barriers offers a dedicated After-Hours Service (AHS) for all Child Youth and Family programs, ensuring efficient responses to after-hours events, improving staff work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care, supervision, and transport to children and young people
- Participate in activities and enhance young people's competencies
- Develop and maintain professional, nurturing relationships
- Implement and monitor individual plans
- Support the child/young person in developing social skills
- Maintain progress notes and write reports
Skills & Experience
- Prior experience in working with young people in Residential Care programs (essential)
- Hold or actively working toward a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar (essential)
- Completed required units in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (essential)
- Healing Matters Certificate (desirable)
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain if successful) (essential)
- Current Australian Driver's Licence (essential)
- Ability to work various shifts including sleepovers and active nights
Successful candidates must clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
