Injury Management and Wellbeing Advisor

The Injury Management and Wellbeing Advisor is a critical connection between People and Culture Operations and Work Health and Safety (WHS) teams. This role works effectively across both teams, providing advisory services to stakeholders regarding effective wellbeing initiatives and injury management processes. The role will be accountable for the effective case management of both, workplace and personal injuries to deliver an early and safe return to the workplace following injury or illness. In addition, the role will identify and deliver programs to support employee wellbeing to contribute to an ongoing proactive safety culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support to improve staff awareness and organisational practices relevant to staff wellbeing and psychosocial safety at work
  • Provide coaching support and assistance to supervisors in effective practices for engaging with staff and proactively discussing staff wellbeing needs relevant to their program area.
  • Coordinate and facilitate injury management through liaison with workers, supervisors and managers, and where appropriate referral to external providers for assessment, treatment and/or training.
  • Manage the claims process for Workers' Compensation and associated case management
  • Organise health initiatives for St John NT in accordance with recognized staff benefits, e.g. in-house flu vaccinations and skin checks.


Selection Criteria

  • Certificate IV or equivalent in Work Health and Safety Management or Human Resource Management
  • Minimum 2-year experience in injury management
  • Sound knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, (Work Health and Safety (National Uniform
  • Legislation) Act 2011 and Return to Work Act 1986), Codes of Practice and standards.
  • Ability to provide best practice advice through effective analysis, review, and application of legislative requirements
  • Demonstrated experience with the Workers' Compensation claims management processes.
