About the School:

Redbank State School is a small school located in Ipswich, in the Metropolitan South region. It is an established school of around 140 students.

Role:

Responsibilities include**:

  • Cleaning windows, doorknobs, taps, sinks, drinking fountains and other surfaces
  • Vacuuming classrooms/offices
  • Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities and sick bays
  • Disposing of rubbish and litter control, removal of material from drains and gutters between surrounding buildings
  • Cobweb and mildew control
  • Leaf blowing concrete, bitumen and other surfaces
  • Other appropriate duties as directed by the Principal/Business Manager
  • Security:
  • Activating and disarming school security systems as required
  • Locking and unlocking buildings.

The successful applicant should have:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Previous experience in school cleaning will be strongly considered
  • Demonstrated capacity to work well independently
  • Demonstrated awareness of WHS obligations with regards to working with cleaning equipment and products.
