Pace Vic is thrilled to recruit for a Logistics Contract Manager for a global client in Melbourne's Western Suburbs. This position involves working nationally and requires a logistics professional with a track record in developing and managing key partnerships with 3PL's, overseeing contracts for transport, logistics, and warehousing. Working closely with sales, customer service, and warehouse management teams, you will align supplier capabilities with business needs to identify improvement opportunities and ensure the highest health and safety standards are maintained.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle all warehouse and transport contracts negotiations.
  • Cultivate strong supplier relationships for competitive pricing and service agreements.
  • Utilize technology for operational efficiency and collaborate with various departments.
  • Promote consistency across regions by implementing global best practices in warehousing and logistics.
  • Contribute to establishing logistics vision, strategy, and policies.
  • Negotiate rates and contracts with transport and warehousing providers in line with business needs.
  • Oversee logistics operations to ensure compliance with service agreements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure top-notch safety practices across all operations.

Experience Needed:

  • Preferably a degree in business, commerce, manufacturing, or engineering.
  • Prior experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation, especially in manufacturing.
  • Thorough understanding of logistics processes and regulations.
  • Expertise in handling dangerous goods is a plus.
  • Proficiency in IT systems such as SAP, Bill of Material (BOM), and Excel for data analysis.
  • Membership of a professional body like APICS and knowledge of lean techniques.
  • Proven management skills with excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
