What's the role?

Reporting to the General Manager of Production Operations, this position is vital for steering the performance of the Truganina Print Centre. The Operation Leader focuses on balancing cost-efficient production, top-notch quality products, and a safe workforce. They are problem solvers, drive transformative change, and inspire employees to achieve remarkable results. A key aspect of this role involves building relationships across all employee levels, from frontline operators to senior management, within our organization and with our commercial partners. As part of the Operations Leadership Team, you will lead crucial projects contributing to the broader business success.

Key Responsibilities

Customer

  • Manage all internal and external (Commercial) queries regarding product quality, quantity, and timely delivery
  • Act as a primary contact for Masthead communication regarding any product changes
  • Contribute to integrating and prioritizing new products into the production schedule

Financial

  • Develop and manage the Print Centre budget, incorporating quarterly forecasting and reporting to senior leadership
  • Handle controllable costs such as Engagement activities, Annual / LSL Leave, and Labour Management
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives through process improvements and restructuring

Operational

  • Optimize throughput performance/copies per hour to enhance equipment output
  • Ensure equipment reliability by scheduling maintenance, allocating labor effectively, and resolving breakdowns promptly
  • Manage risks across disciplines and comply with all regulations
  • Ensure on-time truck deliveries with Logistic department
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on product lifecycle improvement

People

  • Lead Safety initiatives and maintain a culture of zero harm
  • Communicate effectively with employees at all levels

The experience you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience leading medium to large operational sites with heavy machinery
  • End-to-end product life cycle exposure
  • Leadership experience with a large team across various trades and competency levels
