As an Engineering Lead for the Apps team, you take on leadership responsibilities within the Medibank Digital Platform & Engineering team.
Reporting directly to the Engineering manager, you will be tasked to lead a team of engineers as well as undertake all development activities required to deliver technology solutions.
Within your role, you will be expected to lead the resolution of technical development issues as well as make sure that system specifications align with solution architecture.
Responsibilities:
Direct line management of a group of up to 8 engineers.
Design & develop software including application, design, coding, testing, deployment, and configuration.
Translate product management expectations into fully developed functionality meeting customer requirements.
Enable production support capabilities such as logging, monitoring, and alerting.
Design & develop components to support architectural test patterns using best practice & design patterns.
Responsible for recruitment and management of a team across leadership, mentoring, and career development.
Collaborate with other Engineering Leads around ways of working and best practice.
Conduct annual performance and development reviews for all direct reports.
Develop and maintain partnerships within the business fostering collaboration with external stakeholders.
Champion and improve ways of working across the team.
Skills:8+ years software design & implementation leadership experience.
Ideally 2+ years of leadership experience or demonstrated capability in a similar role.
Experience working in an agile team utilizing Scrum or Kanban.
Previous experience working within the scaled agile framework (SAFe) is highly regarded.
Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices patterns.
Good knowledge of AWS Services.
