Deputy
Program Managers to join our inspired team.


In this role, you will contribute to the critical outcomes of the Australian Defence Force by delivering complex, state-of-the-art programs designed to keep Australia safe.


Reporting to the Program Manager, in this new career opportunity as a Deputy Program Manager the experience you bring to this position will see you work proactively in collaboration with functional teams and defence force specialists.

Engaging directly with Commonwealth representatives and RAN personnel, you will provide the vital support necessary to maintain our Collins Class Submarines

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordination and management of program operations including subcontract management, risk management and budget, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage project opportunities and risks and develop mitigation strategies for pursuit throughout all project phases.
  • Establish and implement plans, strategies and milestones for the program, and monitor adherence to program master plans and schedules.
  • Develop, manage, maintain and report program status and progress according to the customers' key performance indicators.
  • Identify, facilitate and support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives throughout the program's lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including internal stakeholders, customers, vendors, suppliers and contractors.
  • Manage team performance to achieve business goals and objectives through use of the performance and development cycle.
  • Lead, motivate and develop the program team to deliver the contracted project outcomes and beyond by keeping uptodate with emerging processes and practices relevant services/programs/products delivered.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • University Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, Business Management or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Ideally 8 years relevant experience
  • Experience in establishing and managing integrated schedules, strategic planning, and ability to identify conflicts and priorities
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within a job area
  • High level skills in financial cost control including the ability to monitor and control project costs and guide financial completion activities
  • Experience managing complex projects within Australian Defence and Defence industry will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to work with little or no direction and to anticipate and meet organisational needs.
  • Demonstrate a focus on delivering the best possible outcome and attends to all details required to deliver the right solutions at the right time and commitments are met on schedule.
