**About the role**
As the Program Analyst, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating financial models that support the organization's operations and decision-making processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse data, identify trends, and create models that enable accurate reporting, forecasting and strategic planning.
Based in Henderson and reporting to the Head of Finance the duties of the Estimator include but are not limited to:
- Financial Model Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust financial models to support the organization's service and maintenance delivery operations. These models should encompass various aspects such as revenue / cashflow forecasting, contract performance, cost analysis, resource allocation, pricing strategies, and profitability assessments;
- Data Analysis: Collect, validate, and analyse relevant data from multiple sources, including financial systems, operational databases, and external market data. Extract key insights and trends to inform the development of accurate and reliable financial models;
- Budget / Forecasting and Planning: Utilize historical data, market trends, and business forecasts to create reliable financial budgets / forecasts. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate their inputs into the models. Develop scenarios and conduct sensitivity analyses to assess the impact of numerous factors on financial outcomes;
- Model Maintenance and Enhancement: Regularly review and update existing financial models to ensure their accuracy, relevance, and alignment with business objectives. Build outputs such as dashboards that can be used in meeting both internal (Babcock) and external (contract) reporting requirements. Stay informed about industry best practices and incorporate them into the models to enhance their effectiveness and efficiency with consideration given to CoA DRN IT restrictions; and
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and senior leadership, to understand their requirements and provide them with insightful financial analysis. Clearly communicate complex financial concepts and model outputs to non-technical stakeholders, enabling them to make informed decisions.
**About you**
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is preferred.
- A master's degree would be desirable.
- Proven experience (5 years) as a financial/business analyst, or similar role including financial modelling.
- Strong proficiency in financial modelling techniques, spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel), and data analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and interpret complex financial and operational data.
- Sound understanding of financial concepts, including revenue recognition, cost allocation, profitability analysis, contract performance measures and financial forecasting.
- Knowledge of service and maintenance delivery operations or related industries is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and reliable financial models.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
- Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement orientation.
**Essential Compliance Requirements**:
- Must either hold, or be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance at the following level;
- AGSVA Negative Vetting - NV1
- Current Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence; and
- Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- No restrictions to access For Official Use Only (FOUO) level or ITAR controlled material
