Our client is seeking to engage an APS6 Project Officer.

Location: Canberra, ACT

Contract Length: Non-ongoing, 12 months (S26 will also be considered)

Our ideal applicants will have previous project management or finance experience, superior written communications skills, analytical and problem-solving skills and a meticulous attention to detail. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, be innovative, have a continuous improvement mindset and be able to implement changes.


The key duties of the position include:

  • Support Directors across the branch in project-related activities.
  • Coordinating regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
  • Create and maintain written material including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
  • Develop and update intranet resources to disseminate project information and best practices.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops sessions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with ANAO auditing standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Provide assistance to Accounts Payable/Receivable, Treasury and Travel areas. Manage prioritisation of own workloads, ensuring work activities are completed to agreed timeframes and standard, undertake quality assurance reviews of information and work, and ensuring quality customer service and advice.
  • Build rapport and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations and collaboration.
